Hey everyone,

When selecting a bucket truck, one big decision is whether to go with an insulated or non-insulated model. What factors do you consider when making this choice? Are there specific job types where one is clearly better than the other? Any insights or real-world experiences would be great to hear!

It really depends on the type of work you’re doing, if you’re working around power lines, an insulated bucket is a must for safety, but for general tree work or sign installation, a non-insulated one might be fine and save some weight. What kind of jobs are you planning to use it for?

Yeah, I’d say it comes down to safety vs. cost. If there’s any chance you’ll be near live wires, insulated is the way to go. But if it’s just general lifting or tree work, non-insulated might be lighter and easier to maintain. What’s your main use for the truck?

Good points so far! If there’s any chance you’ll be working near power lines, I’d go insulated for the added safety—it’s not worth the risk otherwise. But if it’s just for tree work, signage, or general lifting, a non-insulated truck could save you some weight and maintenance costs. Are you looking at a specific model, or just weighing your options for now?

Great advice from everyone! Another thing to consider is resale value, insulated trucks might hold value better if you ever plan to sell or upgrade. Have you looked at any specific brands yet, or are you still comparing options?
