Hey guys,

Is it just me, or is it getting way harder to find good workers in construction? Feels like every project is short on skilled labor, and it's messing with schedules and budgets.

What are you all doing to deal with it? Paying higher wages, training up new guys, using more tech? Think this is just a phase, or is it gonna be a long-term problem?

Would love to hear how everyone’s handling it!

Yeah, it’s definitely a challenge right now. I’ve seen some crews bringing in more apprentices and cross-training workers to help fill gaps. Have you tried anything that’s actually working, or is it still a struggle?

You're not alone, labor shortages are hitting hard everywhere. A lot of crews I know are offering better pay and benefits just to keep people around, but even that’s not always enough. Training new guys helps, but it takes time. Have you looked into using more equipment or automation to make up for the gaps?

Yeah, it’s been rough everywhere. We’ve had to get creative—higher wages help, but retention is still a challenge. Been focusing more on training and keeping the crew we do have happy. Have you noticed certain trades being hit harder than others, @MasterBuilder15?

Yeah, @MasterBuilder15, you're definitely not alone in this. It's tough out there with labor shortages. We've been doing a mix of things with offering higher pay, training up new guys, and trying to make the most out of the team we have. But I’m curious, have you found that certain roles or trades are harder to fill than others on your projects?

I totally get where you're coming from, @MasterBuilder15. It’s tough finding good workers right now, and it’s been affecting a lot of projects. We’ve been leaning more on training new guys and using some tech to help bridge the gap, but it's definitely a work in progress. Has anything been working better for you so far?

Feeling the pain on this too—finding skilled labor feels like hunting unicorns lately. We've started investing more in on-the-job training and trying to build loyalty with better work-life balance (as much as that's possible in construction). Tech helps a bit, but you still need solid people to run the show. Anyone having luck with local trade schools or partnerships?
