BEWARE CHEAP IMPORTED SKID STEER ATTACHMENTS

Just a heads up for anyone looking at budget skid steer attachments! There are a ton of cheap, imported attachments flooding the market lately, and they’re not what they seem.

Some of these brands slap an American-sounding name on their products, put a US city on the serial plate, but in reality, they’re made overseas with no real parts support. Once they break (which doesn’t take long), good luck finding replacement parts or getting any kind of service.

Most of these attachments are being sold through online auctions and big-box retailers, so there’s no dealership support, no warranty worth anything, and they often don’t even meet basic quality standards. I’ve seen flimsy brush cutters, grapples with weak welds, and augers that barely last a season.

Buyer beware just because it looks like a good deal doesn’t mean it is.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Yeah, I’ve seen this a lot lately too. Some of those cheap grapples and brush cutters look solid in pictures, but once you put them to work, the weak welds and cheap hydraulics show real fast. It’s definitely one of those “you get what you pay for” situations. Have you found any budget-friendly brands that actually hold up?

Totally agree. Those cheap imports might look decent at first, but they just don’t hold up under real work. I’ve seen hydraulic cylinders start leaking within weeks! If you’re on a budget, it’s worth checking out used name-brand attachments instead. Anyone had luck finding solid budget-friendly options?
