Hey everyone! I’m trying to decide between a gas-powered or electric bucket truck for my fleet. Has anyone made the switch to electric lately? I’d love to hear about the pros, cons, and real-world performance of each.

Gas-powered bucket trucks are usually more powerful and can handle longer work hours without needing a charge, but electric ones are a lot quieter, require less maintenance, and are better for the environment. If you’re looking at long-term savings and fewer emissions, electric might be the way to go, but it really depends on the type of work you’re doing. Anyone here made the switch to electric and seen a big difference?

Great topic! I’ve been eyeing electric bucket trucks too. Haven’t made the jump yet, but I’ve talked to a few folks who have and they say the quiet operation and low maintenance are huge pluses, especially for city work or early morning jobs. That said, gas still wins for all-day remote work where charging isn't an option. Curious if anyone’s found a good hybrid setup or has figured out how to manage charging on the go?

I’ve been running gas bucket trucks for years, but recently tested out an electric one on a short-term rental and honestly, I was impressed. Super quiet and smooth, and the lack of exhaust was a nice bonus on tight sites. The downside? Range anxiety is real if you're on longer jobs without charging access. Anyone using solar or mobile charging setups to get around that? Would love to hear how you're making it work in the field.
