Hey everyone,

Regular maintenance is key to keeping a bucket truck running safely and efficiently. What are your best tips for extending its lifespan? Do you follow a specific maintenance schedule, or have you found certain parts that require extra attention? Would love to hear your insights!

Hey @Sir_Wise! Keeping up with regular greasing, hydraulic checks, and inspecting the boom for wear goes a long way! I also make sure to cycle the bucket even on slow days to keep everything moving smoothly. What’s been the biggest issue for you so far?

Good tips! I’d add keeping a close eye on the electrical system, corrosion on connections can cause big headaches down the road. Also, regular fluid changes (hydraulic, transmission, engine oil) are key to keeping everything running smooth. I like to do a full inspection every few months, especially checking for leaks and any cracks in the boom. How often are you guys doing full inspections?

Great advice here! Staying on top of hydraulic checks and greasing is huge. I’d also say keeping the outriggers and pivot points clean and well-lubed helps prevent unnecessary wear. Is anyone using specific rust prevention methods for the boom and chassis?

One thing I’d add is to keep a detailed log of all your maintenance. It helps you spot patterns and makes scheduling easier. I’ve also started using a rust-inhibitor spray on the boom and chassis, especially before winter, and it’s made a big difference. Anyone here use a maintenance app or checklist system to stay organized?
