Hey everyone,

I’m looking into buying a forklift and wondering about the price range. How much do forklifts typically cost? What factors affect the price—brand, capacity, fuel type, or new vs. used? Any recommendations for affordable options?

Appreciate any insights!

Forklift prices are kinda like cars -brand, size, and whether it’s new or used make a huge difference. A small used electric one might be a few grand, while a big diesel beast could run you $50K+. What kind of work are you planning to use it for?

Yeah, totally depends on what you need it for! If you're just moving light pallets in a warehouse, an electric one might be a good budget-friendly option. But if you're working outdoors or handling heavy loads, a diesel or propane forklift could be worth the investment. Are you leaning toward new or used?

Good point, forklifts come in all shapes and prices! If you're on a budget, looking at used models or lease options might be worth it. @Rodney Martin, do you need it for indoor or outdoor work?

Forklift prices are all over the map—kind of like buying a truck. A small used electric one might set you back a few grand, while a heavy-duty diesel model can easily hit $50K+. If you’re not set on buying, leasing or renting could be a solid option too. @Rodney Martin, are you looking for something for warehouse use or more of a rough terrain machine?

Just picked up my first forklift, a used propane model for around $12K. Was debating between electric and propane, but since I’ll be using it both indoors and outdoors, propane felt like the better option. So far, it’s been a solid buy! @Rodney Martin, are you leaning toward new or used?
