Scissor Lifts vs. Boom Lifts – Which One Should You Choose?

Hey everyone! I’m trying to decide between renting a scissor lift or a boom lift for an upcoming project, and I’m not sure which one makes more sense. What are the key differences in performance, reach, and safety, and how do you choose the right lift for different job types? Would love to hear what’s worked for you!

Hey @ArchTech, I’ve used both depending on the job, if you're working straight up on flat ground, scissor lifts are great. But for anything that needs reach or maneuvering around obstacles, boom lifts are a lifesaver. What kind of work are you doing in indoor, outdoor, or something with tight access?

Totally depends on the job, coz scissor lifts are solid for vertical work on stable surfaces, but boom lifts give you way more horizontal reach and flexibility, especially outdoors or over obstacles. If you're dealing with tight spots or elevation shifts, boom’s the way to go.
