I’m trying to get a better understanding of forklift load ratings, specifically the rated moment. I know it’s related to load capacity and stability, but I came across some descriptions that seem a bit unclear.

Which of the following would NOT describe a forklift’s rated moment? And what’s the best way to calculate or interpret it in real-world use?

Good question! The rated moment is all about the relationship between load weight and how far it’s placed from the forklift’s center of gravity. If something mentions just total lifting capacity without factoring in load distance, that might not be describing rated moment correctly. Have you run into any tricky situations where this came into play?
 
That makes sense! It’s wild how much of a difference load distance makes in stability. Ever seen a forklift start to tip because someone misjudged the weight distribution? Definitely not something you want to experience firsthand!
