Why Are Forklifts So Dangerous?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been looking into forklift safety, and it’s surprising how many accidents happen each year. I know improper training and operator error play a big role, but I’m curious about what makes forklifts inherently dangerous compared to other equipment?

Is it their design, visibility issues, weight distribution, or something else? Also, what are the best ways to minimize risks in a busy work environment?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

Yeah, forklifts can be pretty unforgiving if not handled properly. The biggest issue is their weight and stability, since they steer from the rear, they handle way differently than cars, and a small mistake can lead to tipping or collisions. Visibility is another big one, especially with high loads blocking the operator’s view. Best way to minimize risks? Proper training, strict safety protocols, and making sure everyone (not just drivers) is aware of forklift movement. Have you seen any close calls at your workplace, @Jack Mccowel?
